KOLLEKTIV INTELLIGENS
Collective intelligence is a phenomenon where the shared intelligence of many people emerges from the collaboration of many individuals. For example it is sometimes easier to make a decision together/collectively, group work in school or doing a puzzle together in a group.
Volunteer work often benefits from and utilizes collective intelligence. For example Finland after the war was built strongly by volunteering, starting from small farmhouses harvesting potatoes together to building barns together.
It builds on the idea that nobody alone knows everything but everybody knows something.
It is also a "-- form of networking enabled by the rise of communications technology, which has enabled interactivity and users generating their own content."
